B.Tech :
In view of the enquires coming from stakeholders pertaining to promotion of students, from B.Tech II to III and III to IV Years, Principals of affiliated colleges are expected to circulate the following regulations among the students and display in the notice boards.
Minimum Academic Requirements for B. Tech. (Regular)
The following are the revised academic requirements of R10.
(i) A student shall be promoted from II to III year only if he fulfills the academic requirements of earning 34 credits from two regular and one supplementary examinations of I year I semester, and One Regular & One Supplementary exam of I year II semester, and one regular examination of II year I semester irrespective of whether the candidate takes the examination or not.
(ii) A student shall be promoted from III year to IV year only if he fulfils the academic requirements of earning total 62 credits from the following examinations, whether the candidate takes the examinations or not.
a. Three regular and two supplementary examinations of I B Tech – I Semester.
b. Two regular and two Supplementary examinations of I B Tech II Semester
c. Two regular and one supplementary examinations of II year – I Semester.
d. One regular and one supplementary examinations of II year II semester.
e. One regular examination of III year I semester
(iii) A student shall register and put up minimum attendance in all 208 credits and earn at least 200 credits. Marks obtained in the best of 200 credits shall be considered for the calculation of percentage of marks.
Academic Regulations 2010 for B. Tech. (Lateral Entry Scheme)
(Effective for the students getting admitted into II year from the Academic Year 2011- 2012 and onwards)
1. Promotion Rule : A student shall be promoted from III year to IV year only if he fulfils the academic requirements of earning total 42 credits from the following examinations, whether the candidate takes the examinations or not.
a. Two regular and one supplementary examinations of II year – I Semester.
b. One regular and one supplementary examinations of II year II semester.
c. One regular examination of III year I semester.

The following are the revised academic requirements of R10.
(i) A student shall be promoted from II to III year only if he fulfills the academic requirements of earning 36 credits from two regular and one supplementary examinations of I year I semester, and One Regular & One Supplementary exam of I year II semester, and one regular examination of II year I semester irrespective of whether the candidate takes the examination or not.
(ii) A student shall be promoted from III year to IV year only if he fulfils the academic requirements of earning total 66 credits from the following examinations, whether the candidate takes the examinations or not.
a. Three regular and two supplementary examinations of I Year – I Semester.
b. Two regular and two Supplementary examinations of I Year II Semester
c. Two regular and one supplementary examinations of II year – I Semester.
d. One regular and one supplementary examinations of II year II semester.
e. One regular examination of III year I semester
(iii) A student shall register and put up minimum attendance in all 200 credits and earn all the 200 credits. Marks obtained in all the 200 credits shall be considered for the calculation of percentage of marks.
Academic Regulations for B. Pharm (Lateral Entry Scheme)
(Effective for getting admitted into II year from the Academic Year 2010-11 onwards)
1. Promotion Rule:
A student shall be promoted from III year to IV year only if he fulfils the academic requirements of earning total 44 credits from the following examinations, whether the candidate takes the examinations or not.
a. Two regular and one supplementary examinations of II year – I Semester.
b. One regular and one supplementary examinations of II year II semester.
c. One regular examination of III year I semester.
